That's a wrap! Power of Hope 2026 comes to a close
Power of Hope 2026 was more than a summer camp—it was a living reminder of what becomes possible when young people and adults come together with intention, curiosity, and care.
Throughout the week, youth stepped into spaces where they could explore who they are, discover their strengths, and find the courage to share their authentic selves. Through creative expression, meaningful conversations, play, and community-building, campers deepened their understanding of identity while building relationships rooted in trust and belonging. It was inspiring to witness young people take risks, support one another, and grow in confidence as the week unfolded.
One of the most powerful aspects of this year's camp was the strength of our intergenerational community. Power of Hope has always believed that transformation happens in relationship, and this year that belief was on full display. Experienced facilitators, returning alumni, new campers, and emerging leaders all contributed to a vibrant community where everyone had something to teach and something to learn.
This year also marked an important step in strengthening the Power of Hope network for the future. We welcomed staff from previous generations of camp to experience the evolution of our model and reconnect with the work. Returning campers from years past joined us alongside youth who once attended camp and are now serving as Counselors-in-Training, stepping into leadership while bringing their lived experience to support the next generation. At the same time, new lead facilitators were intentionally mentored and trained in how to hold the Power of Hope model, ensuring that the heart of this work continues to grow while remaining grounded in its core values.
Watching these layers of leadership come together was deeply meaningful. The continuity across generations reminded us that Power of Hope is not simply an annual event—it is an ongoing community. As participants return in new roles and new leaders emerge, the relationships, practices, and values that define this work continue to strengthen.
The transformation we witnessed this week belongs to everyone who showed up with openness, generosity, and a willingness to connect. Every conversation, every shared meal, every creative project, and every moment of courage contributed to a community where people felt seen, valued, and empowered.
As we reflect on Power of Hope 2026, we are filled with gratitude—for the youth who trusted the process, the families who entrusted us with their young people, the volunteers and staff who brought their whole hearts, and the growing network of leaders committed to carrying this work forward.
The week may have come to an end, but the connections, confidence, and hope that were cultivated will continue to ripple outward. We look forward to seeing how this year's campers, leaders, and community members continue to shape the future of Power of Hope—together.
