What parents/guardians need to know about camp

Power of Hope camps provide a safe, compassionate and encouraging environment where your teenager can thrive. At our camps, teens have the freedom to explore their creativity, they are shown respect, and they are expected to be their best selves.
Our 1:2 staff-to-youth ratio insures that teens are cared for and supervised. Helping youth to build positive relationships with adults and other teens is central to our programs. Your child will leave camp with an abundance of new friends and mentors who will be of great support to him/her through adolescence.
At Power of Hope, we believe that young people are the leaders of both today and the future, and that they have the power to transform themselves and their communities. Year after year, youth return home from camp inspired to express themselves through art and contribute to the lives of others. After camp, teens express feeling empowered, safe, hopeful, and supported.
Consider these quotes from teens:
- Because of this program I will be closer to my parents and my family. I will listen fully to others and take action on what I believe in and love.
- POH is life changing as a whole. My eyes have been opened and my heart has been lifted.
- When I get home I will speak my mind more often and have more confidence. I will try to be more energetic and open with my creative side and try to help my community.
