Summer Camp Registration Now Open!
The time has come once again to register for Power of Hope’s summer camp! This year’s camp will take place August 12-19 at camp Niwana, a beautiful lake-side property. If you have been to camp you are probably aware that it’s a transformational week for 14-18 year olds, chalk-full of new friends and artistic ventures. If you are new to POH, here is what you have been missing:
- Theatre Improv
- Visual Arts
- Zany Teaching Artists
- Music
- Meaningful friendships
- Writing
- Nature Exploration
- Unforgettably Fun Memories and so much more!
Those who have attended a Power of Hope program know that it is not just about the arts. Mentors as well as youth constantly have commented on how energizing and healing it is to attend a POH program. Here are one mentor’s thoughts about why he volunteers for our summer camp:
I have been working with youth a long time and can honestly say that Power of Hope brings something special to the table. POH is extremely intentional about relationships that are built at camp. They establish a culture that embraces the individual’s history and quirks so that everyone feels supported and loved. I found myself taking risks I never expected to take!
As this will be Power of Hope’s only camp this summer, we are encouraging youth to sign up early. If you want to take your art to the next level this is the place for you. But even if you don’t consider yourself an artist, this camp is a great way to gain self-awareness and wonderful new friendships. Register now before camp is full!
